The History of Spruce Pine Batch Company
Spruce Pine Batch was founded by glass artist Harvey Littleton. Internationally recognized as the founding father of the American studio glass movement, Littleton purchased an old drive-in movie theater near Spruce Pine where he built a small plant to manufacture Spruce Pine Batch, now used widely in the glassblowing community by individuals and by schools including Penland School of Crafts.
